Grana Padano lollipops are an original, crispy, and visually stunning idea, perfect for a simple snack or to enhance a finger food appetizer spread. These melted cheese disks leverage the natural saltiness of Grana Padano to create a snack that delights both adults and children. The beauty of this preparation lies in its extreme simplicity: just a few minutes in the oven and a little bit of handiwork are all you need to achieve a professional and creative result.

Make sure you have long bamboo skewers at home; they are essential for creating your Grana Padano lollipops.
Another very tasty recipe you can make with Grana Padano is cheese baskets with ham mousse. You can find the recipe here

Begin the preparation by finely grating the Grana Padano cheese if you don't have it ready. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) so it reaches the ideal temperature while you assemble the skewers on the baking sheet.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the bamboo skewers on the sheet, alternating the tips left and right to maximize space. Ensure there is a distance of about 2 inches (5 cm) between each skewer to prevent the cheese disks from touching as they melt.
Lift the first skewer and pour a small mound of cheese (about one tablespoon) near the tip. Spread it with the back of a spoon to form a disk. Dampen the end of the bamboo skewer that will rest on the cheese and place it over the disk. Pour a bit more cheese over the tip of the skewer and flatten it slightly. For a more precise shape, you can use a round cookie cutter when pouring the first tablespoon of cheese. Repeat this process for all skewers.
Bake in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
Once removed from the oven, let the lollipops rest for about a minute without touching them, as the melted cheese is still very soft. Using a thin spatula, gently detach each disk from the parchment paper, taking care not to break the bond with the wooden stick. Transfer them to a flat surface and wait for them to solidify and dry completely.
Before baking, you can sprinkle the cheese with seeds, such as poppy seeds, or spices like cracked black pepper or sweet paprika for extra flavor.
You can easily substitute Grana Padano with Parmigiano Reggiano if you prefer a sharper flavor.
